Transport
Perth's modern CAT buses running on three routes are a free service providing convenient travel around the city. CAT bus stops have distinctive stands and real-time passenger information that tells you when the next bus is due.

Taxis
Designated taxi ranks are located around the central city for safe and convenient travel.

Supervised taxi ranks operate in Northbridge on Friday and Saturday nights.
Taxis may also be hailed on the street or ordered by telephone.

A taxi service is available for passengers with disabilities. This service operates twenty four hours a day and it is recommended that you book twenty four hours in advance to avoid delays. This service can be booked on (08) 9333 3377.

Currency/Banking
Banking hours are usually 0900-1600hrs, Monday to Friday. Automatic Teller Machines are well spread throughout the Adelaide business district. International credit cards are accepted throughout the country banks, most hotels and city stores.

Dress for the Meeting is smart casual.

Electricity
Australia uses a 240 volt 50 cycle system with 3 pin flat plugs.

Goods and Services Tax
Goods and Services in Australia are subject to a 10% tax (GST). This tax is usually included in the price and if not, it is clearly stated. This tax cannot be claimed back by visitors, when leaving the country.

Name Badges
Name badges will be given to all delegates on registration. We ask that you wear your badge at all times, including social functions. Entry tickets will be given for all social and optional events.

Disclosure of Registration Information
If you do not wish your details to be provided to sponsors or other delegates, please tick the
appropriate box on the registration form.

Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover the duration of your visit to Australia and to protect you against cancellation charges, loss or damage to your luggage and personal effects, loss of cash and medical expenses.

Every effort will be made to ensure delegates with special needs are catered for. If you require any specific assistance, or catering please give details required on your registration form.

Climate
Perth has a Mediterranean climate so for most of the year, the weather is fine and sunny, and even during the short mild winter the sun is often shining.

The mild Perth winter begins at the start of June and finishes at the end of August. It is generally a rainy season, mingled with cool sunny days. There are however occasional storms.
