Dr Tom Johnson has been a consultant at the Bristol Heart Institute for 16 years and was appointed Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Bristol in 2022. He is chief PI of a multi-national, prospective, real-world registry of OCT-guided PCI, AERO-ILUMIEN-V, running an imaging corelab in the university. He has led European consensus statements on the role of intracoronary imaging (ICI) in 2019 and more recently, on behalf on the European Bifurcation Club, specifically for the role of ICI in left main PCI. He is a council member of the British Cardiovascular Interventional Society and chair of the Clinical Standards group. His interests include education, novel therapies for acute myocardial infarction, harnessing real-world data to enhance patient pathways, and ICI.
