In 2012, he assumed leadership of the chronic total occlusion (CTO) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging program, further solidifying his international standing. His membership in the EuroCTO Club since 2013 and his reputation as a world-renowned CTO specialist underscore his global recognition. In 2016, he was appointed as the deputy chief physician at the University of Interventional Cardiology Department at the Heart Center Freiburg - Bad Krozingen, where he led the Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) and Complex Interventions with Higher Risk and Indications (CHIP) program, overseeing over 600 CTO procedures.
